I got a chance to try Fordham Brewing’s RAMS HEAD IPA. I found it to be pleasantly aromatic, with sufficient hop flavor. Bitterness isn’t overpowering, and the finish is light. If you’re used to extreme IPAs, this one might not be for you. Overall, it’s a solid, middle of the road IPA.
Cuvee Freddy from the Alvinne Oak Collection is a sour stout from a tiny brewery in Belgium. Very tart upfront with a nice malty finish. Mouth feel is all stout.
Wild Ride IPA from Sand Creek Brewing Co has a malty bitter up front with a lingering piney finish. The smell is definitely American IPA-esque.
Firestone Walker’s Double Jack double IPA is simply one of the finest double IPAs out there. Hoppy as hell with a great smell and finish. Go get it now!
Troegs Nugget Nectar is for my hop heads, no doubt. It’s an “Imperial Amber” and really does cover both of those styles well. Snatch it up when you see it.
Shlafly’s Christmas Ale is brewed with orange peel and cloves, but I got some sweetness that was incredible. Must be the caramel malt. Not overly heavy yet aromatic, Shlafly’s Christmas Ale was amazing this holiday season.
Bell’s Java Stout- no funny names, no gimmicks, just another winner from Bell’s. The coffee aroma is heavenly and the body is rich and full. The coffee taste is perfectly balanced with the other flavors.
Evolution brewery’s winter ale is a tad light but still spicy and flavorful. It seems like it would be a great session beer.
